At Tbay, giving back is part of who we are. Every month, we set out to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young students across Nigeria and Ghana. For the month of June 2025, our charity outreach took us to Ogudu Nursery and Primary School, a public school in Lagos that welcomed our team with open arms.
📍 About Ogudu Nursery and Primary School
Located at 2, Ojota Road, Ogudu, Lagos, Ogudu Nursery and Primary School is a public institution that serves the educational needs of children from nursery to primary levels. Like many public schools, it operates under limited resources, which is why we chose it for our June charity visit. The school environment is warm and lively, and the staff is deeply committed to giving their students the best education possible, despite the challenges.
🎒 Students & Donations
We were thrilled to engage with a total of 70 pupils from Nursery 1 to Primary 5 during our visit. To support their learning and daily needs, we prepared packages filled with essential school supplies and fun extras. Each pupil received:
Exercise books
Biro pens
Pencils
Water bottles
Namsacks (backpacks)
Snacks
In addition to individual items, we also donated:
A wall clock to help students keep time
Football to encourage physical play and teamwork
🤝 Donation Day Activities
Our charity day took place on July 3rd, 2025. When we arrived at Ogudu Nursery and Primary School, classes were in session, so we had a short wait. During that time, we had a friendly meeting with the school’s headmistress to discuss the activity flow and share more about Tbay’s mission.
Soon after, the pupils gathered outside, and the atmosphere turned electric with excitement. We introduced the Tbay team and explained why we were there. To make the event more engaging, we organized a few interactive activities including a question-and-answer session, fun games, and short storytelling moments. These light-hearted segments helped us connect better with the children and brought smiles all around.
Once the engagement sessions were over, we began distributing the prepared packages. One by one, the pupils received their items with joy and gratitude. We also handed over the wall clock and football to the school staff for classroom and playground use. Since no representative from the local government could attend, we entrusted their gift to the school management.
