Hey there, everyone! In today's Africa, sports transcends mere activity; it embodies a way of life. Yet, for many schools across the continent, the absence of adequate sports facilities and equipment poses a significant barrier to children's physical activity. To address this shortfall, Tbay Charity Team embarked on a special initiative in November 2023 - the Dream Sport Kits!
For our first stop, we selected Agyemanti M/A Basic School in Akwapem South, Ghana, as the launchpad for our Dream Sport Kits. Founded in 2000, this school boasts six teachers and a modest student body. Over the past three years, enrollment has increased from 30 to 150 students, with a diverse array of sports programs introduced. Despite being a breeding ground for Ghana's budding athletes and footballers, the school suffers from inadequate sports facilities and equipment, which limits the school’s sports activities to a certain extent.
On February 9, 2024, our team descended upon Agyemanti M/A Basic School, bearing gifts of footballs, jersey sets, sneakers, socks, and sweatbands. Students were donning their jerseys, and eagerly engaged in a friendly match with our Charity partners, igniting their passion for sports. On the field, some of the girls displayed remarkable talent, and we fervently hope they continue to soar like free birds in the realm of football.
In addition to the football match, our team organized various entertaining games, including Ludo, Oware, and skipping rope, fostering laughter and joy throughout the school. During our interaction with the principal, he extended a warm welcome to the Tbay Charity Team and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the sports kits provided to the students, and he emphasized that these gifts would greatly enhance the students' physical fitness.
The sub-program ‘Dream Sport Kits’ of the ‘Donating 1,000 Schools Program’, we will continue to reach more children and schools in Africa.
