At Tbay, we believe in giving back to the community and making a positive impact on the lives of children in Africa. As part of our ongoing "Donate 1000 Schools" program, we had organized a charity event at Anglican Primary School located in Offin-ile Ikorodu, Lagos. This public school welcomed our team with open arms, and we were thrilled to contribute to their educational journey.
The Tbay Charity Event
The event began with an opening speech by the headmistress of the school, who expressed her gratitude for our support. Following her address, we introduced Tbay and our dedicated volunteers to the students and teachers.
Kristal, one of our volunteers, delivered an inspiring opening speech where she highlighted the importance of education and the role of community support in shaping the future of these young minds. The students then delighted us with a rendition of their school song that created a joyous and uplifting atmosphere.
Engaging with the Students and Teachers
We interacted with the students by asking questions and giving out presents for their participation. The school teachers also engaged with us, sharing their experiences and the challenges they face. This interaction was invaluable as it provided us with insights into how we can further support their needs in the future.
Distribution of Donations and Recreational Activities
After the speeches and interactions, we distributed the packages to the students. The donation consisted of essential items such as bags, books, stationery, snacks and football. The smiles on their faces were heartwarming and reminded us why we continue to invest in such initiatives.
Following the distribution, we had a recreational time with the students, playing football and other games. This not only provided a fun break for the students but also allowed us to bond with them on a personal level.
Presentation of Gifts
To conclude the event, we presented a wall clock to the school and another to the local government representative as a token of our appreciation for their cooperation and support. These gestures symbolized our commitment to maintaining a lasting relationship with the community.
Continuing Our Mission
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the lives of these children and look forward to continuing our work in other schools. At Tbay, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and we will keep striving to make this a reality.
